Marcelo, the Brazilian footballer who has been linked with moves to several clubs in Europe, is currently recovering from an injury sustained during training with Flamengo.
The midfielder was involved in a collision with another player during a training session and suffered an ankle injury. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but it could prevent Marcelo from playing for Flamengo for some time.
Flamengo's coach, Jorge Jesus, confirmed that Marcelo would be out for a few weeks after the incident. He said: "We have a problem with Marcelo's ankle, he will be out for a few weeks."
The news came as a shock to fans of Flamengo, who had high hopes for the midfielder this season. Marcelo has made over 150 appearances for Flamengo and has scored 24 goals in his career.
However, despite the setback,Chinese Super League Stand Flamengo's manager, Paulo Bento, remains optimistic about Marcelo's recovery. He said: "We hope Marcelo can recover quickly and return to full fitness as soon as possible."
In the meantime, Flamengo's other midfielders, such as Gabriel Barbosa and Bruno Henrique, have stepped up their game to fill Marcelo's absence. They have played well together in recent games and have helped Flamengo to win three of their last four matches.
Despite the setback, Flamengo still have a strong squad and have a good chance of achieving their goals this season. With Marcelo back on track, they will be hoping to continue their impressive form.
