Al-Duhail FC, one of the most successful clubs in the Gulf Region, has been hit by another injury blow as their forward Hassan Al-Haydos is set to miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury.
The news comes after the player sustained the injury during a match against Al-Ittihad on Saturday, which resulted in him being stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital for treatment.
Hassan Al-Haydos, who was signed from Al-Shabab in June last year, had made a strong start to his career at Duhail, scoring six goals in his first eight appearances for the club.
However, his latest injury could put his future at the club in doubt, as he will be out for the remainder of the season.
Duhail have already lost several key players due to injuries this season,Chinese Super League Stand including midfielder Youcef Belaiz, who suffered a cruciate ligament tear earlier this month.
With the likes of Youssef Zayat, Ali Matar and Hamad Al-Khalifa also missing through injury, the club may need to look for reinforcements in attack in the coming weeks.
Despite the setback, Duhail remain in third place in the UAE Pro League table, just two points behind leaders Al-Nasr. They will hope that their remaining fixtures will provide them with enough points to secure a top-four finish and potentially qualify for the AFC Champions League next season.
In conclusion, the loss of Hassan Al-Haydos is a major blow to Al-Duhail's hopes of challenging for the title this season. However, the club remains in good form overall and will continue to fight until the end of the season.
